To make us understand the two genius creators – Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki, the authors of these masterpieces, and to reveal the secrets of their leadership and sharing their artistic emotions, this exceptional exhibition features nearly 30 years of designs of Studio Ghibli through 1300 layouts (original drawings) films produced by the Ghibli Studio.

For the first time in Europe, the public can admire the designs that are the origin of all the productions of the studio and all the graphic materials that are the essential artistic crucible for any film animation. For Isao Takahata, the layout is the key component in the production of an animated film. The layouts define, what will be the mood of a scene, its decor, position, attitude and expression of the characters.

The exhibition shows these beautiful drawings for the first time to the European public and pays tribute to the remarkable artistry of those who drew them. For Hayao Miyazaki ” Animation is an illusion and the public is curious to see how it will dazzle. “What secrets will this journey into the drawings of Takahata and Miyazaki reveal? Isao Takahata answers: “That depends on the imagination of every visitor.”
