This was portrayed showing the strong ties that have united the universe of Dior with that of the cultural and artistic movements through time.

The exhibition welcomes you with the journey of friendship and collaborations through the personal private art collection of Christian Dior including Picasso, Matisse and Salvador Dali. A new retrospective dedicated to the world of the Christian Dior, among them are Dior dresses, old sketches, and photographs. Among the archives of the perfume are original documents, manuscripts, period photographs demonstrating the evolution of the perfume.

The Miss Dior bottles, are displayed chronologically showing the development of the perfume through key times. We can also recall the muses of Miss Dior perfume advertisments featuring actresses Natalie Portman and Sophie Marceau. Miss Dior invited 15 female artists from around the world to be inspired by Dior’s world to capture our imagination and enter into their creative philosophy. Their diverse and creative point of view was displayed in various forms including paintings, films and interesting free standing structures.

A fragrance like a sculpture or photography, requires the harmony of the raw materials that blend together to create the whole universe which has been demonstrated through the work of artists like Maria Nepomuceno. Her wild and sensual installation was created through unusual textures and shapes which represent the Dior scent as an organic being forever growing and spreading itself through the free space that surrounds it.

Room of One ‘s Own by Nika Zupanc created a feminine pavilion for writing. Inspired by English author Virginia Woolf she captures the emotion of a private world that young woman crave seeking rest and reflection. Its carved wooden walls recall the signature Miss Dior quilting suggesting vulnerability and doubt. Shirin Nesrat‘s shortfilm “Illusions and mirrors” starring the face of Miss Dior, Natalie Portman puts on a thrilling and tense performance, with surreal feelings. One can see the paradox between the inside and outside, lightness and darkness in life.

These abstract works by all the female artists represent a freedom to interpret Miss Dior in their own way and welcomes you to a fresh outlook in a new era for this iconic fragrance. The exhibition was from the 13th – 25th of November at Grand Palais in Paris.
